Rovio Drops Official Angry Birds Star Wars Trailer Ahead of Launch
Forget Disney's $4.05 billion acquisition of LucasFilm last week. The next big thing from the world of Star Wars arrives on Thursday, when Rovio launches a new version of Angry Birds based on the popular films.
But first, the company is teasing its upcoming title with the official gameplay trailer (below).
The video pieces together each character's abilities — Han shoots first, Luke wields a lightsaber, Leia uses the force — and shows off some of the intergalactic levels players can expect when the game goes live this week, including a cameo by the Millenium Falcon.
While this isn't the first of Rovio's trailers — the company already dropped a few teasers in October — it does offer the most detail about what gamers can expect. Set to a jaunty version of the film's theme song, the 1:19 video flings classic characters (including Chewy, Darth Vader, and Obi Wan) settings that movie fans and Angry Birds players will easily recognize.
